After the Parade

Here's some pictures that I got after the parade.
Ashley, Jayden & Lauren

Greg & D

Best friends, Jayden & Lauren
After we "undressed" the float we decided to go out for Brunch since most of us hadn't had breakfast that morning. The restaurant we went to looks like a log cabin inside. We had such a big group that they put us in a large room to ourselves.

Here's Kathy & Lauren before Lauren started to cry.
She cry's everytime Kathy has to go back home.
Lauren loves her Disney loving Aunt!
Thanks for sharing your parents & Caleb with us, Brooke!!!!!

Here's our 3 Amigos again!
Auburn, E & Caleb

Caleb's such a good sport!
The girls all made hula skirts out of the fringe from the float.
Caleb wanted to have one too.

This picture of Grant reminds me of Matt

Grant is such a cameleon sometimes.
Look at the difference between this picture and the one at the bottom that Mel took.

We have just loved having little Grant!

4th of July Parade

For a few years we've been talking about doing a Glade Taffy Town float in our local parade. We always complain about the Sweet's brand taffy that most of the floats would throw out. (We aren't partial or anything ;) We decided to go ahead and do it this year. My Grandpa Glade helped his brothers start the Glade Candy Co. about 89 years ago. My dad was working there after his mission and met my mom when she got a job. My Grandpa Gregson used to tease my mom, and say that she would marry a "Candy Man". :)

Jared contacted Glade's to see about ordering shirts and taffy for the parade. When he called the owner, he said that he would DONATE everything! Unfortunately their shirt order didn't come in on time, but they gave us all of the red and blue shirts that they had. We were originally going to have just the blue shirts since they were red, white & blue. He also gave us 2 cases of taffy....thankfully Kathy & my parents bought some other candy because the kids had so much fun throwing it that we ran out quickly. We decided if we ever did it again, we'd like to have about 8 cases so the kids could throw as much as they wanted.

I love how Jane's watching Greg blow his pinwheel :)

Enjoying the breeze on the way back....we finally could go faster than 5 mph

The kids had fun flying their flags & letting the wind spin the pinwheels since the parade was over and their hands weren't full of candy.

Redneck Reunion Part 2

Here are some pictures from the 1st day we went camping and the last day. (I didn't get any pictures of the kids at the spillway so if someone will share theirs with me I'd appreciate it.) The 1st day we went up the weather was nice and warm. It rained during the night and while I was trying to cook breakfast the next day. The mud wasn't so fun, but it cleared out later on so the kids could go swimming and we could do our potluck dinner. We made a blueberry cobbler that turned out pretty yummy. It was fun to spend time with our cousins! I love the campsite because they are all together in a big circle so the kids have free reign of all the open area in between. We teased my parents because the set up in their tent was so nice. We called it the Glade palace. :) Besides their large cots with foam mattresses & sleeping bags, they had a bedside table with a lamp and a rug at the door. They know how to camp in style! Mom made a LARGE pot of homemade hot chocolate so all the little kids came into their camp to get some. It was nice because that was the morning it rained. My mom is some cook! I'm so glad that we got to go. Next time I'd like to stay for a week.....at least long enough to make all the packing worth it. :)
Karolyn took this picture of Grant the 1st day. It's one of my favorite pictures of him.
Lauren & Jayden singing by the campfire the 1st night

The kids were singing and doing skits for the adults. Greg was eating it up!
He loved singing with the older kids (G, Lauren & Jayden)

Caleb, Auburn & Erin even got in on the show. Kathy was surprised that Caleb would get up there with them. (Caleb, G, Lauren, Jayden & Greg)

Our Redneck Reunion

We went camping again this year with Uncle Red's family up Hobble Creek Canyon near Springville. I think this was the third time my family has gone up there. Every year when we talk about going camping, the girls want to know if it's the place with the spill way. They LOVE going camping! This place is a kid haven.....places to explore, swimming, tubing, roasting marshmellows, cousins, dirt, etc... We had a lot of fun, but the time always seems to go by too fast, (especially after all the packing, unpacking, and repacking that you have to do). Thanks, Katy for organizing everything! I hope we'll keep this a tradition for MANY years to come.

You can see his scissors, pen & pencil, but you can't see his fork. He told me he hates to use plastic utensils.....you know, he's right. They really are annoying.

Our Prince Charming, Grant

Poor Kassie, they call her the baby hog. She spent a lot of time hanging around waiting for a chance to hold Grant. She was so cute with him.

The Three Amigos...E, Caleb & Auburn

I took this picture 3 times. Mom closed her eyes in the first 2 and Erin closed her eyes in all 3. She didn't like the red eye reduction flash. :)
